This is a bowel disorder, commonly called IBS. The symptoms come and go, and unfortunately the causes are still not firmly established, though it is thought that stress may play a significant role in many cases.
It is a very common problem which affects the digestive system, often creating the need to continually visit the toilet, which of course can be a great source of anxiety and inconvenience, in some cases even forming an obsessional pattern of behaviour.
Symptoms may include, abdominal pain, diarrhoea and/or constipation, bloating feelings in the stomach, indigestion, wind and flatulence, feeling full soon after starting to eat and the feeling that although you have been to the toilet that you haven't emptied your bowels fully.
Whatever symptoms you may have, it is recognised that the condition causes a lot of discomfort.
It has been well documented that the condition may worsen during periods of stress or anxiety, and it therefore follows that this condition responds really well to hypnotherapy, providing that the condition has not been caused by something physical such as a bug, an allergy, poisoning, a food intolerance or an illness.
Hypnotherapy is a highly effective treatment as it helps to reduce anxiety generally, thereby restoring the body to its natural balance.
Hypnotherapy can increase self-esteem, confidence and allow you to begin a journey of self improvement and management by changing your thoughts and changing your negative thoughts and feelings for positive ones. This will enable you to become equipped emotionally to move away from your symptoms and thoughts of IBS and begin moving forward towards the life that you want.
If you need help with IBS, I may need to contact your Doctor for permission to work with you.
